| Welcome to Creative Learning Journey |
The Creative Learning Journey is an imaginative curriculum identifying individual skills with planning and pupil assessment.
Developed by teachers for teachers to deliver a valuable personalised curriculum meeting individual, school and community needs.
The CLJ is the only Primary Curriculum resource in the world that organises the Essential Knowledge, Key Skills and Progression Skills into the six areas of learning. Also combing the essentials for learning and life, over-arching dimensions and National Curriculum into one complete topic approach to teaching. Enabling teachers and pupils to explore links and plan learning opportunities across all curricular areas.
The Creative Learning Journey supplies all the skills to cover the National Primary Curriculum in one simple easy to follow step. With the added benefit of content, resources and activities to totally meet the needs of all schools throughout the UK and overseas, ensuring complete coverage of the curriculum.
Based on the 6 areas of learning, the CLJ is helping children to learn the essential knowledge, skills and understanding through an imaginative cross-curricular approach, engaging children in purposeful learning to foster high levels of enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge. Children develop personal qualities to be good citizens through valuable experiences, resulting in a positive impact on achievement, attendance and behaviour.
A combination of personal progression skills, original activities, purposeful learning and an imaginative approach results in a motivated and stimulated school environment.
The sharing of “topic wheels” between CLJ schools is a unique insight that proves ever more popular with schools all over the world, allowing content, activities, resources and good practice to be at the heart of the creative curriculum.
Designed to enable schools to develop an original exciting creative curriculum to re-ignite children's learning.
All the tools to ensure complete coverage of the curriculum, with planning for weekly and half termly plans and full pupil assessment programme to help teachers assess a meaningful creative curriculum.

Now is the time to break free
An enormous amount of information regarding primary education has been talked about, written and published over the last few months with
- The Labour government 'new curriculum'
- A general election
- A new coalition government, offering more freedom of curriculum choice
- Notification from the new government that the Rose review and new curriculum have been dropped
- Abolition of the QCA
- The intention for more educational reviews to take place
- Notice to continue with the existing national curriculum through 2011/2012/2013
So... what to do from here?
The new coalition government has given all primary schools the opportunity to break free from unnecessary prescription and bureaucracy in their curriculum. With the abolition of the QCA and National Strategies, teachers now have the flexibility to choose a skills based creative curriculum to cover the national curriculum. Schools have been advised that the existing primary curriculum (in force from 1998) will continue until 2011/12 and primary schools should plan on that basis. Both the existing and new Creative Learning Journey resources are based on and assessed to the current national curriculum.
The Creative Learning Journey leads the way in primary education across the UK; the most popular and effective creative curriculum gives you ownership, freedom and complete coverage by giving you a complete breakdown of the current national curriculum with all the skills.
The CLJ skills based creative curriculum meets all the requirements you need to cover the national curriculum:
- Every Child Matters
- Excellence and Enjoyment
- SEAL
- Overarching Dimensions
- Essentials for Life and Learning
The CLJ skills in the 6 areas of learning from foundation stage into key stage 1 and key stage 2, the overarching dimensions, essentials for life and learning and a complete breakdown of the national curriculum, all in one place.
Now is the time to take your school forward to make sure you have a creative curriculum that meets the requirements of the government - and Ofsted as their report of January 2010 states - giving a secure coverage of the national curriculum subjects and skills. Use a creative curriculum that raises standards and develops learners, makes connections, stimulates and motivates.
Topic Wheels, Planning, Assessment, National Curriculum tracking - all in one place
Your topic wheels follow through to the weekly plans, then through to the skills tracking and national curriculum levelling and tracking.
The weekly and termly plans help you follow through the pupils' progression to the pupil assessment manager, all levelled to national curriculum levels and sub-levelled with red, amber and green.
Share good practice
Access to hundreds of shared topic wheels - from other CLJ schools throughout the UK - CLJ allows you to share and view topic wheels with other schools; a complete library of ideas, content and knowledge.
Schools can benefit from the success of a well and truly tested creative curriculum, designed to engage, motivate and stimulate children and staff in primary schools throughout the UK. |
